Country impressions
People come to Georgian resorts with different requests, but I have not met anyone who would not like a vacation in Georgia! It is very beautiful, inexpensive, soulful, tasty and safe here. The special atmosphere of freedom, good nature and sincerity of local residents captivates. Probably no other nation in the world knows how to receive guests as Georgians do!

Beach vacation... Most tourists come to Georgia for summer holidays. We stayed in Batumi and consider this Georgian resort the best place for a beach holiday on the Black Sea. According to tourists' reviews for 2020, it is pleasant to relax in Georgia on the magnetic sands of Ureki and Shekvetili, in the pretty villages of Gonio, Chakvi, Kvariati and Sarpi. We were glad to see the cozy resort of Kobuleti. Thanks to the neat hotels and pine trees on the shore, the small town is similar to the Baltic resorts.
Excursion and ecological tourism... Georgia has a huge cultural and natural potential. Ancient temples, fortresses and monasteries have been preserved in different parts of this country. The traditions of wine-making and cheese-making among Georgians are about 8000 years old, therefore wine and gastronomic tours to Kakheti and Adjara are popular among tourists.
Many people enjoy driving through the national parks and reserves of Georgia. One of the largest bird migration corridors in Europe passes through the western part of the country, therefore bird watching excursions and birdwatching have been actively developing in recent years.
Winter holidays... According to tourists, it is comfortable to have a rest in Georgia at any time of the year. Ski and snowboard lovers come to ski in the mountain resorts of Gudauri, Bakuriani, Tetnuldi, Goderzi and Hatsvali. The first two are large and well-known winter recreation centers. The youngest ski resort - Khatsvali in Svaneti, is still developing.

Is it expensive to rest
Before arriving in Georgia, we knew that prices were low, but it turned out that rest in this country is much cheaper than the Russian south, Turkey, and even more so Europe. Judge for yourself! In high season, modern apartments with a kitchen, 250 meters from the sea in Batumi, rent for 50 GEL - that's 1200 rubles per day. In the low season, we rented the same comfortable and spacious apartment with a kitchen and heating for only 30 GEL - 720 rubles. You can find an expensive restaurant in any Georgian resort, but we prefer to eat in cafes and restaurants where Georgians themselves eat. The portions are huge, Georgian cuisine needs no advertising. We never managed to pay for a hearty meal for two more than 20 lari - 480 rubles.
Georgian bread shoti puri costs 1 lari, khachapuri, penovani, kubdari and other delicious pies - from 1.5 to 3 lari. Fresh fruits in the season are sold at 1.5-3 GEL per 1 kg. Public transport is very cheap, and taxis will not overwhelm your vacation budget. The average price of a trip around the city is 4-5 lari (95-120 rubles).

What sea and beaches
The coastal strip of Georgia stretches for 308 km. The holiday season lasts from late May to late October. A subtropical climate, warm sea water, lush greenery, good beaches and famous Georgian hospitality await you.
The Black Sea is not as clean as the Mediterranean and not as lively as the Red Sea. However, according to tourists, beach holidays in Georgia are good. We love swimming on the pebbly beaches of Sarpi and Chakvi, but it is especially pleasant to relax on the sandy beaches in Ureki and Shekvetili.
Keep in mind that apart from Batumi, Kobuleti and luxury resort hotels by the sea, there is almost no beach infrastructure in Georgia. Most of the Georgian beaches are for wild recreation.

From Tbilisi, we advise you to go to Mestia, the cave city of Vardzia, the village of Stepantsminda near Kazbek, Kakheti and the city of love Sighnaghi. In the vicinity of Kutaisi, it is interesting to visit the Martvili and Okatse canyons, the Prometheus cave and the Gelati monastery.
During your holiday in Batumi in 2021, go to the ancient fortresses - Petra and Gonio, take an excursion to the Mtirala National Park and look at the picturesque waterfalls in the mountains.

Vacation with children
Georgia is one of the countries where holidays with children bring only positive emotions. It is better to live with babies by the sea. Older children are interested in showing mountains, waterfalls and ancient fortresses.
In terms of food, Georgia is different from exotic Asia. In shops and markets there are a lot of fresh vegetables, fruits, delicious milk, yogurt, yoghurts and cheeses, and in restaurants and cafes you can always order dishes familiar to a child.
When choosing a city or resort, keep in mind that the terrain can be mountainous. It is not convenient to walk everywhere with a stroller and small children.
Sofia: "The whole family spent their vacation in Batumi. I was pleased with the long boulevard, where attractions for children, shops and cafes are concentrated. I rented bicycles a couple of times and rode the whole family along the boulevard, I highly recommend it, especially in the evening. Ride the Ferris wheel. , the view is simply amazing. I really liked the water park. There are many water slides for children and adults, there is an open area for kids. "
When is the best time to go
Any time of the year is suitable for excursion and health tourism. There are always juicy fruits. We arrived in Tbilisi in February and were amazed at the amount of fruit in shops and markets. In May, the first strawberries and medlar appear on sale, followed by cherries, mulberries and cherries. Since June, fresh plums, apples and pears have been on the shelves, and in July, the selection of fruits simply dazzles your eyes!
Spring and autumn are the most picturesque times in the mountains. The ski season in Georgia starts at the end of November and ends at the end of April. The best time for skiing is from December to March.
Swimming in the Black Sea is comfortable from late May - early June to late October. In the middle of summer, the water warms up to + 26 ... + 27 ° С. If you do not tolerate the summer heat, relax at the seaside resorts. It is hotter in July and August in Tbilisi than in Batumi and Kobuleti.
Irina: "In July we visited Kobuleti for the first time. The picturesque place and the weather is wonderful: for a week there was no cloud, no rain. The temperature was stable + 26 ... + 28 ° C. The water was also warm enough for swimming."
Is it worth going
Since 2019, there are no direct flights between Russia and Georgia, but this is not a reason to refuse to travel! It is easy to fly to Georgia with a transfer in Minsk or arrive by land transport through Verkhniy Lars. Tourists are welcomed here, loved and greeted as the most dear guests. Come!
