How to eat inexpensively in Phuket

We can give some tips on how to save on food in Phuket:

  1. Find inexpensive cafeswhere tourists are fed for the same money as locals. There are not many such establishments, but they exist. You can eat simple, but delicious dishes from 50 baht. Traditionally on the menu: rice or noodles with chicken, meat or seafood, as well as Thai soups.
  2. Night Markets... Thais have a tradition of selling cheap and delicious food after sunset. There is a cool night market in Patong: we are regulars there. You can buy any food: rice, noodles, soups, mini-kebabs and large kebabs, fruits, necks, sweets, rolls, seafood. The lowest prices for food in Phuket will be in the markets. 3. Fruits... Great snack! The main thing is to find fruits at reasonable prices. Fruits are expensive in trays on the streets, on the beach. The prices are lower in supermarkets (Big C), in the markets (but even there they can inflate the price tag). Learn more about the fruits of Thailand >>

Where to eat inexpensively and tasty in Patong

We share with you the addresses of establishments in Patong where you can eat cheaply and deliciously:

  1. Banzaan Market Night Market behind the Jungceylon shopping center. Cramped, hot, sometimes overpriced.
  2. Night market behind Jungceylon - at JJ Plaza, opposite the yellow B-Quik building. Two years ago there was a vacant lot and a construction site, and now there is a spacious square and many white tents with food! It compares favorably with the neighboring market at Banzaan Market with spacious aisles and neatness, as well as assortment and slightly lower prices.
  3. Cafe at Niku guesthouse... Main courses from 70 ฿. We lived in this guesthouse. Address: 143 / 26-27 Rat-U-Thit Rd.
  4. Malin plaza Patong at Prachanukhro Rd.
  5. There are inexpensive establishments at the intersection of Soi Chuwong and Sainamyen Streets. Soups 50 ฿, wontons and rice with meat 70 ฿.
  6. Waithai Restaurant on Phra Barami Road. Dishes from 80 ฿. It's right on the beach, but we don't know the prices there. In general, you can find inexpensive street cafes on Phra Barami Road!
  7. Hawker Center - three outdoor cafes opposite Bayshore Resort and Spa on Thanon Ratuthit Songroipi Rd. Padtai - 70 ฿, tom-yam - from 100 ฿.
  8. There are also several inexpensive establishments on the third line from the beach on the left side (if you go north).

There is also a night market directly adjacent to the Jungceylon building, but we did not look there. It seems to be called Patong Night Market and is one big elongated white tent.

Where to eat inexpensively on Karon Beach

There are no establishments directly on the beach, they are all across the street. In the northern part of the beach, opposite the parking lot, several establishments are located close to each other. We ate in a restaurant Yummy: deep-fried squid with garlic 200 ฿, noodles with squid 90 ฿, rice with garlic 50 ฿, drinks from 70 ฿. A plate of fruit and wet wipes are provided free of charge. The staff are very helpful.

Where to eat cheaply in Surin

In the central part of Surin Beach, across the road, there are several tables with tables. Padtai and rice with meat 70-80 ฿, necks from 40 ฿.
