Voronezh

The city on the river of the same name has existed for more than four centuries. Many important historical events took place here at different times. In battles, it was badly destroyed, but rebuilt.

Rossosh

The town is small, located 200 km south of Voronezh, on the Black Kalitva River. The area around is pristine dense forests in which wild animals are found. Interesting architectural objects: the station building and the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of the 19th century. Several theater groups work in the city, large-scale creative competitions are held. The rich exposition of the local history museum is of interest.

Borisoglebsk

The city is located 200 km east of Voronezh, at the confluence of the Vorona River with Khoper. Here you can enjoy the ancient architecture: merchant estates, houses, shops. The oldest church, the Assumption, dates back to the 18th century. The local drama theater is also located in the historic building. There is an interesting art gallery, the house where Maxim Gorky lived, as well as the flying school where V.P. Chkalov studied.

Liski

The settlement received its development thanks to the construction of a large railway station, here and now many trains pass and there is a brisk trade at the station market. There are two sanatoriums with healing mineral water springs. In the city park, you can ride the children's railroad. 10 km from Liski there is the Divnogorye Museum-Reserve, which is a must-see for all guests of the city.

Ostrogozhsk

The ancient city is located 100 km south of the regional center. Ancient architecture is of interest to visit: merchant houses of the 19th century, the Transfiguration Church of the 18th-19th centuries. In the center of the city, a stone has been preserved, installed at the meeting place of Peter I and Mazepa. The rich art gallery named after Kramskoy stores the works of not only the famous countryman, but also Aivazovsky, Repin, Polenov, Kuindzhi.

Novovoronezh

One of the youngest cities in the region, was founded in 1952 in connection with the construction of the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant. It is located on the banks of the Don River, only 38 km from the regional center. The city is well developed: there is a culture park with attractions, a sports complex with a swimming pool, and a cinema. In the vicinity there is a recreation center with its own fish farm, where you can fish.

Buturlinovka

The small town is located 180 km from Voronezh, on the Osered River. It has a rich history, many objects of the XIX-early XX centuries have been preserved: temples, estates. A military airfield is located 4 km from the city, a monument to the MiG-21 aircraft is erected at the entrance, and in Buturlinovka itself - to the Su-25 aircraft.

Semiluki

A small town, divided into two parts by the Devitsa River, stretches along the right bank of the Don. The settlement arose here during the construction of the railway at the beginning of the 20th century, but people settled in these places for a very long time. This is evidenced by the archaeological site of the Semilukskoye settlement in the city park. In summer, there are beautiful places for recreation and fishing, and in winter, ski and tubing slopes are open.

Pavlovsk

The hottest city in the region is located 150 km south of Voronezh. It is included in the list of historical cities; there are about 40 monuments of history and architecture of the 19th century. The famous oak grove still grows in the vicinity, where Peter I chose a forest for his fleet. The water from local springs is rich in silver and is considered curative. The production of granite in the Pavlovsk quarry is the largest in Europe.

Bobrov

The city is located in a very beautiful place on the Oka-Don Plain: on one side there is Khrenovskaya Bor, and on the other - Morozovskaya Grove. Not far from here to the famous Swan Lake. Kalach

A small town is located 240 km from the center of the region at the confluence of the Podgornaya and Tolucheevka rivers. The easternmost settlement of the region is 240 km away from its center. The town is located on the left bank of the Khopra. Its construction was associated with the construction of a railway. Nowadays, many roads and railways pass through Povorino. The life of the majority of local residents is connected with the railway, so a monument to the railway worker was erected in the depot.

Boguchar

The city is the southernmost settlement of the region, its name is associated with the Bogucharka River. Boguchar is a historical city, there are preserved churches of the XIX - early XX centuries, the building of the gymnasium where M. Sholokhov studied. Ertil

The name of the city is associated with the river on which it is located. This land was granted by Catherine II to Count Orlov. The sons of the count organized sugar production here. The houses built in those days, as well as the buildings of the factory, have survived to this day. Many memorial sites are dedicated to fellow countrymen who died in the Great Patriotic War.

Novokhopyorsk

The town is located on Khopr, from here navigation along the river begins. The city center is surrounded by three hills. The area is of great archaeological value, therefore Novokhopersk is recognized as a historical city. The Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ with five domes was built in 1865. The buildings of the hospital, male and female gymnasiums were built at the beginning of the 20th century. The Novokhopersky Nature Reserve is located nearby.
