Of course, there is also a lot of resort trash in the form of roaring karaoke and tourists in a drunken stupor, but where is it not? We appreciate the pike perch for its strategically convenient location - from it it is convenient to visit the surrounding villages and attractions. And rest in Sudak in 2021 is inexpensive!
How to get there and ticket prices
Auto. The most convenient way to get to Sudak is by car. The Crimean bridge is open, so the travel time has been reduced - now the road will take about 3 hours. True, there are traffic jams along the way - for example, in Feodosia and villages close to it. Another disadvantage is that gasoline in Crimea is about 5% more expensive than the average for Russia. We tried to buy gasoline at ATAN filling station - this is what the locals advised. We were returning from the trip along the Crimean bridge: the roads are wide, free, ideally smooth.
A train. Some prefer road romance and travel by train. Then it is profitable to buy a single ticket to the Crimea together with a railway ticket - that is, to travel according to the "train + bus" scheme. Prices for a single ticket are fixed: from Anapa - 540 rubles, from Krasnodar - 660 rubles.
Air. Some tourists arrive at the Simferopol airport. Round-trip tickets from Moscow in the high season cost from 9,000 rubles per person. You can get from the airport to Sudak as follows: first by bus to the old terminal, and from there by another bus to the resort. Or first get to the bus station in Simferopol, and then take another bus.
About the new airport of Simferopol: stylish, cozy, functional. Parking costs 100 rubles per hour, 15 minutes is free. Cunning locals are waiting for those arriving at the entrance to the airport on the side of the road. We were told that sometimes violators are photographed and fines are sent.
Prices in Sudak for hotels
There are enough hotels in Sudak, but the private sector predominates, and especially guest houses. The most notable hotels are Soldaya Grand Hotel and Resort 4 *, "Astarta", "Bastion", "Uyut - 1", "Resident", Grand, Diva.
One of the most expensive hotels in Sudak is the 4-star Soldaya Grand Hotel and Resort, where a suite costs from 14 thousand rubles in high season. The price goes off scale, but the hotel tries to match the level: large territory, beautiful views, pool, spa, kids club, rooms are decorated in different styles.
Simpler and cheaper "Astarta" 4 * with sea views: in the 2021 season, the standard costs from 5300 rubles, luxury - 10 thousand. Outwardly, we did not like it at all - it looks unassuming. In other hotels, standard double rooms cost 3-8 thousand rubles.
Rest in Sudak on an all-inclusive tour is impossible, but there are vouchers with full board - about 40-60 thousand rubles for a week's rest for two in a 2 * and 3 * hotel (departure from Moscow). "All inclusive" can be bought at other resorts - from 60 thousand - in 3 *, from 100 thousand - in 4 * and from 140 thousand - in 5 *. We doubt the advisability of buying expensive tours to Crimea. Service on the post-Soviet peninsula, and for the same money you can relax abroad cheaper and in better quality hotels. Prices for the private sector in Sudak by the sea
The private sector is our everything. He did not know the delights of rest in the Russian south, who did not look for housing in the private sector and did not communicate with the owners. Once in Sudak we decided not to book on the website, but to find a guest house the old fashioned way, and drank in full. Don't do that. It's hard to walk in the heat and look for options: either the subscriber's number is unavailable, then there is an announcement, but there is no call on the fence. Or they say: a standard by the sea for 500 rubles! You will be seduced - it's cheap. Then it turns out: per person, without amenities in the room, 2 km from the sea. We needed something to be inexpensive, spacious, not a grandmother's option. It turned out that you just can't find it. The resort is completely private guest houses - sometimes the owners themselves live in them. Prices in Sudak are one of the most democratic in Crimea - a standard room for two in the summer of 2021 costs from 500 rubles.
During our holidays in Sudak we lived in the Solnechny boarding house, the Nonna and House with a Knight guesthouses. The latter is very modern with a pool and table tennis. After the modest guest houses typical of Crimea, the rooms in the "House with the Knight" seem to be a model of style. At the beginning of the season, accommodation there is inexpensive - from 800 rubles.
There are also advertisements for renting apartments and houses - they can be found both on the Hotellook and in the resort (on the fence, poles, cars). In summer, a one-room apartment costs from 1000 rubles per day, a two-room apartment - from 1500 rubles, an apartment in a cottage - from 2000 rubles. You can rent a two-room house from 1,500 rubles, a three-room house - from 3,000 rubles.
Food prices in Sudak in 2021
Canteens. On vacation in Sudak (and indeed in the Crimea), tourists prefer to eat in canteens, because it is inexpensive there. The average bill for two is 300-450 rubles. There are many canteens in Sudak, the best one is "Food" at the fortress. These chains also cook well in other establishments - on Cypress Alley and near the water park. In the "Home-style dining room" at Kiparisovaya prices are like in a cafe and tasteless, on the street. Lenin opposite the City Garden - so-so.
Cafe. They have an average check of 400-600 rubles for two. We rarely ate in the cafe, as the food in the dining room was wonderful. Sometimes we went to the "Red Dragon", where pizza costs from 300 rubles, fries - 90 rubles, rolls - from 250 rubles, salads - from 200 rubles, main dishes - 150-350 rubles, alcoholic cocktails - 250-500 rubles.
The shops. The products were bought in the "Pud" and "Guzel" stores. Prices are the same as in Russia on average, but something is more expensive. For example, these are dairy products (milk - from 70 rubles per 1 liter!) And imported fruits.
Market. Buy seasonal fruits and vegetables - they are cheap. Prices for 1 kg: cherry - 80-180 rubles (depending on the variety), cherry - from 80 rubles, strawberry - 100 rubles, mulberry (mulberry) - 100 rubles per glass.

How to have fun on vacation in Sudak
The main entertainment for tourists in Sudak is seal rest. In season, all the beaches are strewn with pale bodies. However, there is a lot of active entertainment: bike and roller skate rental, jeeping, horseback riding, mountaineering, kayaking, and a water park.
Here are examples of prices:
- 7D cinema - 400 rubles per 10 minutes;
- photo session with 2 knights at the fortress - 600 rubles;
- virtual reality attraction - 200 rubles for 4 minutes;
- segway - 700 rubles per hour;
- amusement park - admission is free, but each entertainment is paid separately;
- boat trips - from 700 rubles per person (depending on the program and distance);
- bike rental - from 150 rubles per hour.
When you walk along the embankment, look at both of us - inexperienced fans of rollerblading, segway, bicycle, scooter and remote-controlled cars (mothers are the most dangerous drivers!) Tried to knock us down every now and then.
Transport
From Sudak, you can go to almost any resort on the peninsula from the bus station. The current schedule can be found on Yandex.Transport or at the train station.
City buses at the resort are not for the faint of heart. Old grooves, shabby and crumbling, with grinding brakes and no seat belts. If you are not used to mountain roads, then even a trip to the New World will seem extreme. One day, a woman in a headscarf in the front seat was observed frantically crossing herself at every sharp turn. One thing is good - the fare is a penny, some 14 rubles. The schedule is in the salon. We warn you: sometimes you may not wait for the bus.
Taxis are widespread, but there are only private ones.We did not use their services.

What to see on vacation in Sudak
Zander is ideal for day trips. We lived in Sudak about five times, climbed everything in the area - and still there are many unexplored places left.
At the resort itself, of the attractions, only the Genoese Fortress and Cape Alchak with the Aeolian Harp cave. But in the vicinity there is a lot of things:
- Cape Meganom
- Mount Ai-Georgy
- Mount Perchem-Kaya
- excavations of the church of St. John Chrysostom
- temple "Sign" in Grushevka.
It is convenient to travel from Sudak to:
- Novy Svet (Golitsyn trail, Kosmos peak, Taurus staircase, Hell and Paradise valley, Karaul-Oba mountain)
- Koktebel
- Old Crimea
- Sun Valley
- Zelenogorye.
Excursions
Booths with excursions and barkers nest in the tourist part of Sudak - mainly near the fortress, on the embankment and on the Cypress Alley. There are also animal tormentors who catch the simple-minded by the hands and slip chinchillas, monkeys, owls and hawks for a photo.
If you have your own transport, it is best to arrange the trip yourself. Also, some sights can be reached using buses - go to Novy Svet, Koktebel or Meganom. It's cheaper and more fun! For example, in travel agencies the circular route along the Golitsyn trail costs 400 rubles, and you can walk it for only 24 rubles - this is how much round-trip bus tickets cost.
Of the excursions, we recommend what we have tried ourselves:
- boat trip along the Golitsyn trail - 750 rubles per person;
- an hour's walk to a flock of dolphins on a speed boat - 700 rubles per person. Recommended!

Our review of the rest in Sudak: pros and cons
We love Sudak and have rested there many times. This is a pleasant resort without pathos and pretentiousness.
Its advantages:
- convenient location
- picturesque nature
- clean sea
- sand and pebble beach
- during the season there are fewer tourists than in Yalta or Alushta
- prices are lower than at popular resorts
- a huge selection of inexpensive housing even in season
- parking is easier than on the South Coast
- many inexpensive canteens and cafes.
Cons of rest in Sudak (in principle, this is the case in almost any resort in the Crimea!):
- the city beach is narrow and small, crowded in season
- there is no natural shade on the beaches, and the places under the awnings are occupied by sun loungers
- beaches are not ennobled, some sheds are rusty fittings from the times of the USSR
- toilets were paid, we didn't see showers on the beaches, there are few changing rooms
- if you want to lie down in silence by the water, forget about it - advertisements for establishments and excursions are broadcast loudly (advertisers do not take "creativity", the songs will remain in your memory for a long time)
- service in hotels in its infancy
- in low season everything is dead - almost all shops and cafes are closed, not all hotels are open
- Sudak is still a big resort, and on the Cypress Alley and the embankment it is noisy and crowded.
