Cheap to fly to Europe via Finland and the Baltic countries is a good and proven way to cut costs on European travel. This time we will share the secrets of how you can get from Finland to Greece inexpensively. These routes are designed for both those who travel to the sea and for those who want to visit the ancient Greek cities for cultural purposes.

1. Lappeenranta → Thessaloniki - € 88

Let's start our review with the most low-cost air flight to Greece from Finland. This is a flight on board one of the most popular low-cost airlines in Europe (read more about them here) Ryanair from Lappeenranta to Thessaloniki with a transfer in some European city. The route is somewhat difficult (you will have to endure 4 flights), but the cheapest - all tickets can be bought for only 100 euros!

So, the first part of the route is a flight from Lappeenranta to the German airport Dusseldorf Weeze. It is quite easy to find tickets for this direction for 20-25 euros.

From Dusseldorf you can fly directly to Greece: air tickets to Thessaloniki can be bought for 23-30 euros. If you wish, you can specially extend the time interval between arrival and departure and spend another day in Dusseldorf or go to the Netherlands, which is only a few hours away by bus or train.

As for the return route, you can fly, for example, through Milan - why not see another city, since you need a multiple route for an inexpensive flight from Greece to Finland? Ryanair flies not directly to Milan, but to the nearby small town of Bergamo, which is also very interesting and deserves attention. You can get to Milan from Bergamo for just a few euros by train. Air tickets for Ryanair flights from Thessaloniki to Milan (Bergamo) can be purchased for 20-30 euros.

And finally, we are waiting for the final flight from Bergamo to Finland - tickets for these flights can be purchased for 25-40 euros. To dock this flight with the above flight from Greece to Bergamo, we will choose a ticket for the next day, although it is not the cheapest.

As a result, the cost of air tickets for all flights was 20 + 23 + 20 + 40 = 103 euros, which is less than 5,000 rubles! Well isn't it great? In principle, you can meet even less money if you are lucky enough to get a ticket for the last segment of the route for 25 euros. Then the cost of tickets will be only 88 euros. A fantastic budget trip!

2. Tampere → Thessaloniki - € 115

In a similar way and with approximately the same budget, you can build another flight route to Greece via Finland: this time the departure will be carried out from Tampere, and Frankfurt-Hahn will become an intermediate point (near Luxembourg, Belgium - if you wish, you can stay and visit these places) , Milan or London (but in this case the flight will be longer). Whichever city you choose as a place of transfer, the cost of air tickets will be almost the same.

Here is an example of a constructed route - for each flight segment, you will need to pay approximately 30 euros, the total amount will be 115 euros (approximately 5500 rubles):

The only drawback of this route is that it takes longer to get to Tampere - the city is located about 200 km north of Helsinki. flying from Lappeenranta, located right at the Russian-Finnish border (almost opposite Vyborg), is much more convenient in this regard.

3. To Athens and Volos from Lappeenranta or Tampere - from € 133

Another good and inexpensive way to fly from Finland to Greece. In the case of Athens, departure from Finnish cities we already know, transfer in Milan or London, and the same carrier - Ryanair. Tickets can be found from € 133 for all flight segments.

If the purpose of the trip is the city of Volos, then you need to fly from Tampere via Frankfurt-Hahn or Milan. Tickets for this route usually cost from 150 euros.

4. To the islands from Lappeenratna or Tampere - about € 150

Kefalonia island. Departure from Tampere (via London). The largest of the Ionian Islands can be reached for € 150.

Kos island. The most convenient flight is from Lappeenranta with a transfer in Milan. The cost of air tickets for this travel route to Greece via Finland is about € 150.

Rhodes island. The route is the same: departure from Lappeenranta, transfer in Milan. Air tickets can be found for 140-160 euros.

Corfu island. We fly to the northernmost of the Ionian islands either from Lappeenranta with a transfer in Dusseldorf or Milan, or from Tampere via Frankfurt-Hahn or London. Tickets cost 150-170 euros for all flight segments.

Crete. Arrival at the airport of Chania. Departure from Lappeenranta with a transfer in Milan or Dusseldorf. Tickets from 170 euros.

5. To Greece from Helsinki - about € 200

You can fly to Greek cities and islands directly from the capital of Finland. For example, you can fly to Crete (Chania city) aboard the Norwegian low-cost airline. Tickets can be found for around 200 euros.

An absolute advantage in comparison with the options listed above is that in this case there will be a direct flight from Finland to Greece without transfers to other European cities. By the way, Norwegian has been repeatedly recognized as the best low-cost airline in Europe.

You can also fly to Greece through Helsinki with a more difficult route, using the services of various low-cost airlines in Europe (read about them) and making transfers in different European cities. For example, the route may be as follows: from Helsinki we fly to Rome on board Norwegian, then from the capital of Italy we fly to Thessaloniki on an easyJet, and back we can fly through Budapest, first on Wizz Air, and then again on Norwegian. All air tickets and fees will cost about 200 euros.

In a similar way, you can fly from the capital of Finland to the Greek city of Kalamata: airlines will also change, and the price will be the same.

In general, for about the same 200 euros or a little more, you can fly from Helsinki to Greece on board classic airlines. Even if the price is a little higher, it will be more comfortable this way, and the air ticket price already includes baggage and meals on board. If you need to fly from the Finnish capital, then, perhaps, this option will be the best.
