What you need to know about holidays in August

So, you are going on vacation in August. Get ready for three things: to crowds of people at any resort, to hellish heat and high prices. Although, if you catch a burning tour, then the latter is not a problem. However, other disadvantages are reduced to naught if you fly to Thailand, Vietnam and other countries for a vacation in August, where the season is low at this time. Yes, the weather can pump up, but there will be few people and minimal prices. You decide!

In addition to the countries listed below, in August I had two vacations in Italy and once in Spain - it is, of course, great there, but it is very hot and quite expensive. I advise you to travel to these countries during the velvet season.

Where to have an inexpensive vacation in August

Turkey

The undisputed leader of our collections, where you can almost always inexpensively fly by sea abroad, is Turkey. Prices for vouchers are always pleasing! And in August 2021, it is still the only country where you can fly inexpensively on vacation. So we are not afraid of the agony of choice! Prices for tours are quite low: a ticket for 7 days in a simple hotel can be bought for 41,000 rubles for two, and for a good five, and even with "all inclusive" - ​​from 65,000 rubles. We ourselves have traveled to Turkey four times already. We all like the country: nature, climate, cuisine, excellent value for money. Last year, we flew for a week on a tour to Kemer for only 33,000 ₽ for two - a good price for the high season. We bought a last minute tour 2 days before departure. It was possible to take a voucher even for 21,500 rubles for two, and "all-in", but hotels at such a price are always mediocre, and we did not want to be overwhelmed and chose a more expensive hotel. Abkhazia

Where is it cheap to have a rest abroad, if not in Abkhazia! Very close, no visa needed, low prices, everyone speaks Russian, mild climate and an abundance of natural attractions. But do not forget, Abkhazia is not Turkey for you! The infrastructure and service here are lame on both legs, so when choosing a hotel, carefully read the reviews of tourists - poor living conditions and unpleasant staff can ruin your vacation. Tours to Abkhazia usually cost from 25,000 ₽ for 7 nights of rest and from 33,000 ₽ - for 14 nights. "All inclusive" is almost not practiced in Abkhazia, there are such tours, but they are much more expensive. It is more profitable to take full board or no meals at all - this way you will get acquainted with the national cuisine.

Bulgaria

Inexpensively you can go to rest in Bulgaria. In August, the cheapest tours usually start at RUR 35,000 for 7 nights, and all-inclusive packages start at RUR 50,000. The country is inexpensive, understandable and especially suitable for families with children. But get ready to spend extra money on a visa - I can't imagine why they still won't cancel it. Greece

Greece is always one of the most inexpensive destinations where you can go on vacation abroad at sea. Even in August, tours are usually inexpensive: from 35,000 ₽ for two for 7 nights. And last year we flew there on a tour for only 27,000 rubles for two. Spent five beautiful days in Rhodes in an inexpensive but very pleasant Artemis Studios - I can safely recommend both the island and the hotel. We will definitely go to Greece again. Tunisia

For an inexpensive vacation by the sea in August, you can safely go to Tunisia, which for many Russians is now replacing the usual Egypt. No visa required. Cyprus

UAE

Tours to expensive Emirates are quite cheap. In August there is a low season because of the hellish heat, so you can fly on vacation inexpensively and, moreover, without a visa. Vouchers for 7 nights cost from 60,000 rubles for two, for fives - from 75,000 rubles. The cheapest tours are usually sold to Sharjah or Dubai, but far from the beach. Thailand

Despite the fact that summer in Thailand is a low season, thousands of tourists fly to rest at this time. The disadvantages of a vacation in Thailand in August are possible rains and storms, and of the advantages are low prices and low crowds. Whether to go or not is up to you. Personally, it was quite comfortable for me to relax in the low season: swimming in the sea in the rain, admiring the most spectacular sunsets and enjoying low prices - it's all cool! True, the sea is not as clean as in winter, and it is a little stuffy due to the humidity.

We rested three times in Phuket, two in Pattaya, were in Krabi and Bangkok. We liked Phuket the most, we spent almost three months there in total. In Pattaya, the beaches are so-so, but the island of Ko Lan is very close, where the beaches are much better (be careful: there are a lot of Chinese!).

Where it's not too hot in August

It is quite difficult to have a rest in August at many popular resorts - it is very hot. I strongly advise everyone to choose September for a holiday by the sea for three reasons at once: pleasant weather, prices are much lower, there are fewer people. Canary Islands... Perfect for a vacation in August by the sea! Despite the fact that the Canary Islands are located south of the Mediterranean Sea, the climate here is milder. No wonder they are called the islands of eternal spring. During the day it is + 29 ° С, at night + 21 ° С, and the ocean warms up to + 23 ° С.Prices are lower than in the resorts of mainland Spain. The nature is amazing, very cozy, pleasant and comfortable. You can go surfing and diving, climb the Teide volcano in Tenerife and go to natural parks. Holidays in the Canary Islands can be well combined with shopping: there is a duty-free zone here, and from July to the end of August there are summer sales.

France... For a beach holiday in August, you can go to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic. The most famous resorts are located on the Cote d'Azur - Cannes, Nice, Saint Tropez and others. There is the warmest sea and very comfortable weather: in the daytime + 28..30 ° С, water in the sea + 27 ° С, and the sea breeze pleasantly cools. People love the Cote d'Azur also for its natural beauty - the entire coastline is completely indented with small bays and grottoes. Resting here is expensive and prestigious: luxury hotels, yachts, restaurants and casinos. On the Atlantic coast of France it is cooler, it rains more often, and by the end of August the water is already too cold for swimming. We recently went to Normandy - the cities there are charming. There are also beautiful forests and endless beaches, but it is difficult to swim because of the strong ebb and flow. But you can enjoy real Camembert cheese and see the most romantic corners of France, as well as go to Paris and Disneyland.

Portugal... Wonderful country! I flew there the year before last and will definitely come again. While most of the Mediterranean is languishing with heat, in the resorts of Portugal, the weather is more comfortable - the cool breath of the Atlantic saves you, which well knocks down the summer heat of this southern country. On the continental coast of Portugal there are huge and very picturesque sandy beaches, as well as cozy cities and interesting sights. For awesome nature, I advise you to go to the Azores and Madeira. At the same time, rest in Portugal turns out to be quite inexpensive, especially on the islands. At least in no other Western European country I have yet to drink coffee in the morning for some 0.6 euros!
