Still not decided where to relax in July 2021 in Russia? Then I will tell you about the best places! Find out where to find an inexpensive seaside vacation and where to go on an exciting journey. My personal experience, tips and juicy photos that will inspire you to travel. Go!

Crimea

Crimea is a charming and pleasant land. There you will find a scattering of resorts for every taste and a clear sea, which in some places is no worse than in Cyprus or the Maldives. In addition to excellent beaches, on the peninsula you will find picturesque mountains and hundreds of routes for pleasant walks, and in general there are a lot of beautiful and interesting places.

I advise everyone to visit Crimea at least once (we ourselves have already been there four times). Just come without high expectations regarding the service - everything is really bad there. We honestly talked about all the disadvantages and advantages of staying in Crimea, read both notes and decide what is more important for you. For me personally, the pluses definitely outweigh. I will definitely come to Crimea again, and more than once!

Why do I consider Crimea to be the best place where you can relax by the sea in Russia in July? The sea has already warmed up in the middle of summer, the beaches there are not only pebbly, but also sandy, the nature is beautiful, the rest is inexpensive, there are more than enough attractions, and now you can get to the Crimea in any way. Our detailed Crimea travel guides will help you plan your vacation easily.

Karelia

Where to go in July in Russia for those who do not like heat, crowded beaches and are tired of the city? Come to Karelia!

Last summer I first went to this region and was fascinated by it. There you will find shaggy forests, clean lakes, an atmosphere of tranquility and tranquility. A great place for a reboot, digital and social detox - get some rest! Rent a house in a picturesque place, go fishing, visit Vottovaara Mountain, look at beautiful examples of Russian wooden architecture and ancient petroglyphs. We have written detailed travel guides in Karelia - they will help you organize your trip.

Krasnodar region

You can also go to the Krasnodar Territory to have a rest at the sea in July. There will be a little more civilization here than in the Crimea, especially in the most popular resorts.

The choice of places to stay is very large. Do you want to relax in a large resort with a developed infrastructure? Come to Sochi, Anapa or Gelendzhik. Want to have fewer other people around? Come to small villages - there are many of them, especially on the shores of the Azov Sea. For the discerning, there are expensive and serious hotels and even all-inclusive, while budget-conscious tourists will find budget guesthouses and the private sector. In short, everyone will find their own here. Read about the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory and find out where to find sandy beaches there.

Many airlines fly to Sochi, Krasnodar and Anapa, so tickets are cheap. I myself usually travel to the south of Russia by car - so you can visit any place without excursions and buses, as well as spontaneously change resorts. But keep in mind that a vacation in July at the sea in Russia costs about one and a half to two times more than in June or September.

In addition to a beach holiday, in the south you will find boat trips, rafting and river rafting, jeep trips to the mountains to waterfalls, gorges and caves, water parks, therapeutic mud and much more. It will be interesting to go on an excursion to Adygea, Krasnaya Polyana and Abkhazia.

North Ossetia and Ingushetia

If you want a special and non-trivial program for your vacation, then I advise you to go to the North Caucasus in July! This is my favorite region of Russia, I love every Caucasian republic with all my heart.

Why is it worth going to Ossetia and Ingushetia? For the incredibly beautiful mountains, medieval tower complexes, crypts full of the bones of the dead and, of course, Caucasian cuisine. And there are almost no other tourists here and you can feel like a real discoverer. Especially in Ingushetia - having passed the whole republic, we did not meet a single tourist, and even practically not a single local resident. They are highlanders, they don’t show themselves once again.

Also in Ossetia, it is worth visiting the notorious Karmadon Gorge, where Sergei Bodrov Jr. and his film crew died. I guarantee that the furrows that the descended glacier left on the walls of the rocks will impress you and make you feel the scale of that catastrophe. We were looking for a way through the gorge and the place of death of the film crew late in the evening, already in pitch darkness. The silence and darkness of the gorge pressed and frightened, because we were there completely alone. And what if the glacier or collapse starts now? What if we too will remain buried here forever? Such thoughts were spinning in my head. Nothing bad happened, of course, but my friends and I felt the possibility of a catastrophe very keenly. If you are not afraid, I advise you to repeat our experience and go to the gorge alone and after sunset. A strong emotional experience awaits you.

Lake Seliger

Seliger is a system of lakes of glacial origin in the Tver and Novgorod regions of Russia. In summer, many tourists come here from Moscow and neighboring regions, and in July there is a real tourist boom in Seliger. The weather in July is typical for central Russia: during the day + 25 ° С, at night + 14 ° С, the water invigorates + 18 ° С, but this does not interfere with rest.

Wild camping in tents is especially popular on Seliger, but for lovers of civilization there are comfortable bases, some of which are located on the islands. Local camp sites offer standard entertainment: beach, fishing, hunting, excursions. All beaches are sandy, with fine clean sand, and are suitable for families with children. Here you can play tennis and paintball, go rafting, parachute jumping, rent a boat or speedboat. It is pleasant to walk or ride a bike in the pine forests. In addition, some hotels offer spa treatments and a sauna.

Popular trips to the island of Khachin, to the source of the Volga and to the holy Okovetsky Key. And the most famous place on Seliger is the Nilov Monastery on Stolobnoye Island. There, you can climb the bell tower and take in the magnificent panoramic views.

Caucasian Mineral Waters

Another popular region where you can go to rest in July in Russia is KavMinVody. It is worth going here for active and health-improving rest. It is here that some of the best health resorts in the country are located. The most popular are the balneological resorts of Kislovodsk, Zheleznovodsk, Pyatigorsk and Essentuki.

In July, the Caucasus is warm and sunny: during the day + 28 ° C, at night + 17 ° C, most often dry, but sometimes there are short-term rains with thunderstorms. It is hot in open places, but parks and squares bring saving shade, and the July day heat is easily and pleasantly endured. If you are planning a trip to the mountains, please bring a raincoat or windbreaker with you.

In addition to treatment in sanatoriums, tourists study local sights and architecture: Pushkin and Pirogov baths, Lake Proval and Mount Mashuk in Pyatigorsk, Narzan gallery and Shalyapin's estate in Kislovodsk, the palace of the Bukhara emir in Zheleznovodsk. Each resort town has beautiful parks with pump rooms, fountains and paths, and for a beach holiday there are special recreation areas on lakes and rivers. I highly recommend going on an excursion to Dzhily-Su and the Bermamyt plateau - it's just space!

  • What to see in Kislovodsk
  • What to see in Essentuki

Once, while traveling in the Caucasus, I stopped by Pyatigorsk for a couple of days. The atmosphere there is really special. After such a trip, "A Hero of Our Time" just asks to be re-read.Somehow I will definitely come there to get medical treatment and rest in the best traditions of the "water society" of the 19th century.
