Should you go to the UAE in March 2021? The prices and reviews of tourists about a beach holiday in the spring of previous years will help to decide.

We have written a lot of texts about the Emirates on the HowTrip blog, some of them are full-fledged travel guides created from personal experience. Therefore, in the course of the story, I will leave links to supplementary materials, pay attention :)
So, the UAE in the spring of 2021, what are they?

The UAE is open for Russians. Subject to several conditions:

  • Carry a negative PCR test on paper - in English and not older than 72 hours, the time is counted from the moment of taking the analysis. Children under 12 years of age are exempt from testing.
  • Upon arrival in Dubai at the airport, take another test - already free of charge. Wait for the results in your hotel - as a rule, it takes 1-3 days.
  • Insurance is mandatory for every tourist, covering covid - in a couple of clicks you can buy it on Cherekhapa, and the pre-downloaded mobile application Covid19 DXB Smart App.

Weather in UAE in March - is it worth going?

Photographed the view of the city during a boat trip on a speed boat

  • The number of rainy days in March - 1 (!!!)
  • Sunny days - more than 27
  • Outdoors - not higher than + 30 ° С during the day, but not lower than + 18 ° С in the evening

In early March, the air temperature in the UAE fluctuates between + 24 ... + 25, and in the end it gets warmer outside and reaches + 28 ... + 30.

In my opinion, the same Dubai in March-April is a great option for traveling abroad on vacation. It is not yet as hot as in summer, and not as cold as in Russia. Although it is believed that the season in the UAE has not yet begun, the weather is more than much warmer! And swimming at a water temperature of + 22 ... + 24 can be comfortable.

The March climate is reminiscent of the February climate: it is also good to go on excursions, walk along the embankments, see the best sights - in a word, it allows you not to hang around at lunch in a shopping center or hotel, hiding from the sun. You can take shorts, T-shirts and a jacket / jeans for the evening with you. Swimsuit still, yes. This is quite enough if you have a direct flight directly to the Emirates.

Water and air temperature

One of the favorite beaches in Dubai - La Mer

If you believe that the beginning of spring is not a season, then you will have to question all concepts of warm weather in general. In Russia, even in summer, it happens that temperatures like in the UAE in March are not observed :) The only time when you really shouldn't go to Dubai is summer (from June to September).

Average temperature of water and air:

Where to relax in the UAE in March?

From the side of the main boulevard, such a view of the Burj Khalifa opens

To get a general idea about the resorts of the UAE, how they differ, where is the best sightseeing vacation, and where is the beach one, take a look at this article.

WHERE IS BETTER TO GO TO REST IN THE EMIRATES?

Dubai: in March everything is fine with the weather, not an Asian resort, of course, but very comfortable, warm and most importantly - there is something to see! And to climb the Burj Khalifa, and fly in a helicopter, and ride a high-speed boat, there are many things you can try. Dubai, as a resort, is the most popular destination in the UAE. And the most expensive, but in March prices are lower here, at least for tours and hotels separately.

SHARJAH AND AJMAN: are near Dubai, the weather is the same. Sharjah borders, and Ajman is just behind it. I advise you to choose these resorts if the budget is limited - you can find great hotels here at half the price of Dubai. For example, our 3 * Centro Sharjah By Rotana is a cool option for a business hotel with good breakfasts and pleasant rooms at an adequate cost.

RAS-AL-KHAYMA: more budgetary, slightly warmer, but deserted and more boring. Usually PAX is chosen more for a relaxing beach holiday in a good hotel (and with children). It takes about 1 hour to get to Dubai.

ABU DHABI: a developed city on a par with Dubai, the capital of the UAE. There are also skyscrapers, promenades for walking and a "bag" of attractions - from theme amusement parks to the most famous mosque. But the beaches in Abu Dhabi are not very good, in this it loses 10 times to Dubai, where the ratio of beach-sea-interesting places is better. I recommend getting to know the city on excursions - the choice is huge.

FUJEIRA: spring is the warmest here, but the resort is far from the central emirates with their attractions. For a cultural and educational vacation, Fujairah is not suitable, but for the best beaches, sun and sea - yes!

Let me summarize on the question of which resort is better to choose in the UAE. If the budget allows, or you have found an inexpensive tour to a hotel that suits you, then to Dubai. If you need cheaper, but close to Dubai, look for tours to Sharjah, from there you can go to Burj Khalifa at least every day. Are you only interested in beaches? Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah are waiting for you.

Prices for tours in the UAE in March - 2021

Clarification.
I hope that by March 2021 the consequences of the crazy 2020 will sink into oblivion, and we will all heal like the good old ones, without prohibitions and restrictions. I will remove this box as soon as the UAE tours are settled on a regular basis. Until then - getting to the Emirates is now easier on your ownby taking tickets for Aviasales (there are flights for Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and Grozny) and booking a hotel on RoomGuru.

About tours.
There are tours to the UAE in March in 2021, but they became more expensive after the opening of the borders - because so far only regular flights can fly (plus to the joy of aerophobes!).
What is extremely convenient - Russians do not need a visa to the UAE, so you can buy a tour at the last moment and fly away even tomorrow, we did this a couple of times. And what is extremely joyful - a vacation in the UAE in March is leading in the rating of warm and cost-effective options.

There are 3 main services for booking tours in any direction:

  • Travelata
  • Level.Travel
  • Onlinetours

In short, these are three large online travel agencies - only without extra charges and completely transparent, they collect offers directly from tour operators. All three have existed on the Russian market for a long time, and for the last 5 years we ourselves have been buying tours to "package" countries online. Convenient and hassle-free.

How much do tours to the UAE in March 2021 cost:

Dubai3 * - from 60 500 rubles
4 * - from 65,000 rubles
5 * - from 74,000 rubles
1 line - from 90,000 rubles
Sharjah3 * - from 56,000 rubles
4 * - from 60,000 rubles
5 * - from 70,000 rubles
1 line - from 75,000 rubles
Ras al-Khaimah3 * - from 55,000 rubles
4 * - from 70,000 rubles
5 * - from 85,000 rubles
1 line - from 85,000 rubles
Abu Dhabi3 * - from 75,000 rubles
4 * - from 80,000 rubles
5 * - from 90,000 rubles
1 line - from 95,000 rubles
Fujairah3 * - from 70,000 rubles
4 * - from 72,000 rubles
5 * - from 75,000 rubles
1 line - from 85,000 rubles

* all prices are for tours for two with a duration of 7 nights; are relevant at the time of this writing and may change depending on the date of booking and the exchange rate.

Tip: all inclusive in Dubai hotels is definitely not worth its price tag, but in other resorts, you can consider it. In Dubai, we usually only take breakfast, but lunch and dinner in the city is more interesting and cheaper.

Good hotels in Dubai and Sharjah - where did we stay?

Our room at the Hilton Al Barsha hotel

Where to stay in Dubai?
If you are not ready to overpay for the first and even the second line, look for a hotel near the metro station (or read our detailed material about the districts of Dubai). The main line runs through almost all of Dubai's attractions and one of the best local beaches, Marina.

About hotels.

  • 4 * DoubleTree by Hilton Al Barsha - we stayed here for the last time, the hotel is good, on the plus side - the Hilton chain, location next to the metro station and the large shopping center Mall of the Emirates (I think this is the second largest shopping center after Dubai Mall). Minus - there was a construction site nearby, I had to bypass it. Perhaps now it is over, and things just got better.
  • 3 * Centro Sharjah by Rotana is an excellent business hotel in terms of price / quality ratio. We took a tour here for 5 days, and I would give the hotel a full 4 stars. There is a large outdoor heated pool, sauna, gym and more! Free transfers to Dubai Mall and the beach. But not everything is so good, there is a minus, and it is one of the main - the location of the hotel near the airport, far from civilization.

Prices for holidays in the UAE in March and for independent tourists are falling. So, hotels, if you book yourself on RoomGuru, come out cheaper than in May or autumn, and apartments can be rented for inexpensive on Airbnb.

What to do in March in the UAE (Dubai)?

Best helicopter photo of Dubai on a guided tour (costs about $ 180)

For several trips to the UAE, we tried almost all the main entertainment, and visited, probably, almost all the sights of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Entertainment - desert safari, helicopter flight, Burj Khalifa sightseeing tour, various city sightseeing tours, boat trips and much more.

As I said above, the weather in the UAE in March is ideal for excursions, almost all tourist reviews say this, so below I will share with those that we especially remember.

Best excursions

In this section I will tell you about 5 popular excursions in the UAE. There are ten of them in total, and an additional five, what to do in March, you will find in a separate thematic article.

Bookmark the three main sites for booking excursions in any country (including the UAE):

  • Satellite8
  • Tripster
  • GetYourGuide

The first two are Russian services (but work all over the world), and the third is international with English-language excursions.

Desert Safari

Price: from $ 35 for daytime, from $ 45 for evening.

My advice: it is better to book a day safari, firstly, it is cheaper, and secondly, it goes faster and without unnecessary activities and gatherings, and it is cold after sunset. But there is also a minus, it is usually in English. On the daytime, they leave the hotel at 7 am, return by 12, and the whole day you can walk or lie on the beach. With the evening it will not work.

Sightseeing tour in Abu Dhabi

Price: from $ 60.

My advice: we went to the capital of the UAE twice - daytime and evening excursions, and here it is already better to choose a daytime one, it is more interesting! And if you are with a large company (from 4 people), you can take an individual excursion and make a personal itinerary!

Sightseeing in Dubai

Price: from $ 130 for an individual (you can collect the whole family), from $ 20 for a group.

My advice: Of course, there are a lot of sightseeing spots around the city - both by the red hop-on hop-off bus, by convertibles, and on foot. Choose the one that suits your budget.

Dubai Marina by speedboat

Price: from $ 33 per person.

My advice: inexpensive, interesting and unusual - you drive a speed boat around the bay, stop at the top locations for photos. I filmed a separate video about this excursion on Youtube, take a look. And booked online on GetYourGuide, on the spot it was more expensive.

Viewpoint at Burj Khalifa

Price: from $ 36 - cheaper due to the small flow of tourists. We went up for $ 42, which is the standard price per ticket on the official GetYourGuide retailer.

My advice: take tickets online - so cheaper and without a huge queue; book a time 30 minutes before the opening of the site in the morning, see the views without a large number of people on the site.

Helicopter flight over Dubai (most advise !!)

Price: $ 180 per person for 12 minutes of flight.

My advice: BEST excursion so far in my life. It is in Dubai that a helicopter flight is as cheap as possible (if I can say so about $ 180) - I have looked closely at flights over cities abroad, and it has always cost impressive money. Here, too, not free, of course, but quite acceptable! All the details and a profitable service for booking a flight - follow the link above.

Where is the best place in the UAE in March with children?

Probably the simplest question of all about the UAE. I will answer briefly, in the UAE in March it is good with a child at all resorts! It all depends primarily on the hotel, so choose the one that suits your interests. And it is not necessary to overpay for the location on the seashore - from most hotels there are free transfers to the beach.

Where is the warmest place? See the section above, where I described the temperature of the water and air at different resorts. The only thing I do not advise you to travel with children in late spring and summer, it is very hot. On family vacations with children in the UAE, we have an excellent text where we have written out the main activities with children, go on.

Should you go to Dubai (UAE) in March? My experience and reviews of tourists

The UAE in March, according to the reviews of tourists and in our opinion, is a good choice for a vacation, and it is definitely worth going here. The weather in 2021 will not change much compared to 2020, which means that it will be warm outside, no need to hide from the heat and sit under a conder.

The comments of tourists about a beach holiday in March do not coincide: someone expects "fresh milk" in the water, but does not receive it; Someone finds the wind uncomfortable, but in general, as in February, most argue that although you need to get used to the water within a couple of minutes, after that you don't want to get out.

Pros and cons of rest

+ Walking along the promenade
+ Trips on excursions
+ Lying comfortably on the beach
+ Fewer tourists
+ Tour prices are lower than seasonal

- The sea is cooler than the season
- There is a wind, but not every day (and it is not so cold)
