This city of flowers, canals, old pedestrian streets, bridges is a favorite vacation spot for tourists from all over the world. We are no exception. You can get to the city of Annecy in France by bus from Geneva (35 minutes), the resort town of Chamonix (1.5 minutes), and from Paris can be reached in 2.5 hours by high-speed train - TGV.

The city is divided into two parts: the old part and the modern one. In the old part of the city, tourists can see not only houses of the Middle Ages, but also various castles. One of the most visited places in this part of the city is the medieval castle called the Palace on the Island. The castle got this name because of its location: on a small island in the middle of the canal.

One gets the impression that the castle grew out of the water, and its appearance looks like a ship. The castle was built in 1132, therefore it is the oldest castle. Now it houses the museum of the city of Annecy. In the evening, the castle opens from a new side. It contains something mysterious and mystical.

Walking along the embankment of Annecy, another attraction appears before the eyes of a tourist - the castle of the Counts of Geneva. Very often the castle was exposed to fires, and then it was completely abandoned. Later it housed a barracks, and now a museum of modern art.

In addition to the castles, the city of Annecy is famous for the churches located along the street Ruso... This is the bishop's palace and church St. Peterwhere as a young man he sang in the choir Jean-Jacques Rousseau, church Saint Maurice, church Saint François.

The water in the lake is crystal clear. Nearby there is a paid beach with impeccable white sand, sun loungers, a volleyball court. The entrance to the beach is 10 euros per person. Take a boat ride on Lake Annecy to the castle Mentom Saint Bernard, located on a 200 - meter hill.

It should be said that on the first Saturday in August, an annual lake festival with fireworks takes place on Lake Annecy in France. We were lucky enough to get to this holiday. It was great! For an hour and a half, the sky above the lake was lit up with thousands of fireworks and all this action was accompanied by music. In addition to the fireworks show, there was a laser show over the lake.

Not far from Lake Annecy there is a park - the Garden of Europe. This park was built in the English style in 1863. Walking through the park, you can find out the name of the tree by looking at the small plaques next to each tree. There is an artificial Swan island.

After walking and water excursions, your appetite will be in earnest. There are a lot of different restaurants in the city of Annecy for your choice and taste, where they will gladly offer you to taste local cuisine. Don't forget to visit the market in Annecy, which is open on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. It is best to head there early in the morning. Here you will find an abundance of cheeses, sausages and other local specialties.

And of course, how can you do without shopping in France? In local shops and malls, you can easily find what your heart desires from magnets to precious jewelry.
