How to use the Crimea map

This map is very detailed and contains over one hundred marks.

Click on the arrow in the upper left corner to open the information curtain. To hide the curtain, click on the same arrow again.

The map has two layers: resorts and attractions. To leave only resorts and cities on the map, uncheck the "Attractions" layer. And vice versa.

By default, the map is schematic. If you want to see the terrain, click on the arrow in the upper left corner. In the opened curtain in the lower left corner you will see a dark green square - this is the button for switching the map to another mode. Click and you will have a satellite view.

What you need to know about the resorts of Crimea

In short, Crimea is divided into several resort areas depending on the relief and climate.

Eastern Crimea (+ northeast). These are Kerch, Shchelkino and other small villages. It is mainly a gentle steppe, but there are small hills and remains of ancient coral reefs.

Southeast... These are Feodosia, Ordzhonikidze, Koktebel, Sudak, Novy Svet and all the villages around them such as Beregovoy and Kurortny. Starting from Feodosia, the relief gradually becomes hilly, and full-fledged mountains are already beginning in the Koktebel region.

the south coast of Crimea (abbreviated - South Coast). This is all that is around Alushta and Yalta to Cape Aya - almost to Sevastopol. There are high mountains, and resorts are located on the slopes to the sea. The streets are sloping, narrow and winding. Parking is difficult. In the heat, it is difficult to climb from the sea to the hotel, if it is far from the coast.

Sevastopol. This city is always isolated. The city and its surroundings are hilly.

West Coast... These are the resorts around Saki, Evpatoria and Olenevka. Here again there are flat steppes, except that there is hillyness on the Tarkhankut peninsula.

Centre... Simferopol, Bakhchisarai, Belogorsk, Old Crimea. There are enough mountains around them (and some!), But the cities themselves are quite flat.

The main resorts of Crimea

There are many resorts in Crimea, but there are only a few popular and large ones with a fully developed infrastructure:

  • Yalta
  • Alushta
  • Zander
  • Evpatoria
  • Feodosia

These are the centers of attraction for tourists, the main resorts that everyone has heard about. The rest of the resorts are smaller villages. But small does not mean bad! Quite often the opposite is true. For example, Novy Svet, Utyos, Simeiz and Partenit, although small, are considered prestigious - it is expensive to rest there.
