Kutná Hora is a popular tourist destination. Mostly people come here on a one-day excursion. We also decided to go to Kutná Hora from Prague, when there was nothing to do in the capital, but only on our own. And they did not lose: in November there are almost no tourists, and few groups go only to the top sights.
There are three ways to get from Prague to Kutná Hora: by train, bus and taxi. Our choice is definitely on the train! Below you will find out all the passwords and accounts.
Trains Prague - Kutná Hora
This is the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to get to Kutná Hora from Prague - we chose the train. Trains are comfortable, there are toilets. The journey takes about 50 minutes. Departure from the main railway station in Prague - Praha hl.n., arrival at Kutna Hora hl.n. The stops are not announced, but their names are always visible at the stations - just don't miss it.
There are two more stations in Kutna Hora, but it is impossible to leave them for Prague - you still need to change trains at the main station.
Timetable Prague - Kutna Hora. Direct trains to Kutna Hora and back run every one to two hours, there is also a change in Kolín. Direct: 06:04, 08:04, 10:04, 12:04, 14:04, then every hour until 22:04. Check the timetable on the website of the Czech railways.
Tickets. Come to the station in advance (at the same time look at the historical part of it), follow the Tickets signs to find the ticket offices, queue up at the Domestic departures ticket offices and buy tickets. They cost from 99 CZK (about 4 euros) one way. Better to take in both directions at once - tickets are not tied to a specific train and time and are valid all day. Czech logic is incomprehensible: round-trip tickets for two are cheaper than for one (356 kroons versus 396 kroons).
Boarding the train... Then wait for the platform number to appear on the board. Only the terminal stations are highlighted there - you need trains going to Brno. Attention: a controller walks on the train and checks tickets.
Tickets can also be bought online on the website of the Czech railways or at the machine at the station, as well as from the conductor (more expensive). The machine did not work, so we purchased it at the checkout.
How did we do it? We got off at the station, ate at the U Zlatego lva pub and walked around the city on foot. From the main station to St. Barbarians - about 5 km. You can also go back on foot (set aside an hour and a half for this) or by bus # 1. Be sure to write down the schedule of return trains!
It is better to arrive in the low season by 10 am, since at 9 am everything is still just opening. And in high - the earlier, the better.
Bus Prague - Kutná Hora
You can also get to Kutná Hora from Prague by bus 381, but there are some nuances. Previously, buses departed from the Florenc station, and now - Háje (Gae). This is the terminus of the red line of the metro (C). Arrival at Kutná Hora, aut.st. MHD. The station is located quite close to the Old Town, but far from Kostnitsa - this creates inconveniences.
Bus schedule Prague - Kutná Hora: 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 10:00, 12:00 - 20:00 every hour, 22:00. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Check the schedule here.
Tickets cost from 70 CZK per person one way, that is, traveling together there and back - 280 CZK. Plus, add the metro passages - it will be about the same as by train, but longer and more difficult.
Taxi to Kutná Hora from Prague
It makes no sense to take a taxi, since the distances are tiny and you can easily and cheaply get there by train. This is even more interesting: you should have seen what a colorful Czech Wasserman we rode in a compartment with!

Excursion to Kutna Hora
For those who are too lazy to understand the work of Czech transport or do not want to go alone, there is an alternative - excursions.
pros: nothing needs to be planned, there is no danger of confusing something with transport and getting lost.
Minuses: you will be limited by the general schedule and will have to walk in a crowd of compatriots (although with headphones, which is already pleasing - the guide will be perfectly heard).
